Entry Level Jobs Roles

I Thought about being a art director which is basically what I am interested in, my role would be to ensure that their clients' desired message and image is conveyed to consumers, responsible for the overall visual aspects of an advertising or media campaign and may coordinate the work of other artistic or design staff, such as graphic designers.

Art directors work with art and design staffs in advertising agencies, public relations firms, and book, magazine, or newspaper publishers to create designs and layouts. They also work with producers and directors of theatre, television, or movie productions to oversee set designs.

Animation, games and VFX are industries that combine creativity and imagination with technical expertise.
Game Designer, would also be something that I am interested in, it seems to be a lot interesting.

Media Job Mandy- VFX Designer

After a long time of thinking what I wanted to do in the future, I decided that I want to be part of the vfx group, the main reason is because I find myself as a very creative person when it comes to illustration. I will have to overcome myself and try my best to become a good visual effect artist. VFX artists, sometimes referred to as multimedia artists or animators, have a variety of responsibilities, which will vary depending on the position. Some common duties, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), include: Using computer programs and illustrations to create graphics and animation.
I have been studying media for the past 2 years which has made me learn a lot and get my skills improved. I have completed my BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate Creative Digital Media Production, which at the end I ended up with a Merit as my grade. now I'm currently on UALAB L3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology at Leyton Sixth Form College. I am trying my best to learn from the basis how to use software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Audition. My aim is to be able be a pro at all of those software and among others, and I believe this job will allow me to do so. I love drawing and creating new stuff, with it including fantasy and fiction stories.

I see myself as an outgoing, creative and an ambitious person, I like my projects to be perfect and detailed. I like to impress people and challenge myself to new things.

Documentary Planning Questions

why did you start your YouTube channel?
who inspired you to start your channel?
how long does it take to plan your videos?are you the one who edit your video?
what software do you use to edit and do you find it challenging or easy?
what are your plans for your future videos?
are there a lot of competition?
what are the pros and cons?

So me and rozina are going to make a documentary on margarita which is one of Leyton students, she is a second year and has a YouTube channel in which she just started; we decided to work on her because she seems so passionate about it and works with camera, so, cooperating with us would be great for both sides, hers and mines. In other words, she would have a documentary made on her, and I would have my work with someone who can act and interact easy with the camera.

Also she does performing arts and it might be why she likes appearing on camera, we could ask if being a youtuber is related to the course that she has taken in college.
we plan to film the documentary in the studio, we will book it with scott after we know Margarita's.

29/01/2019
we decided to change our documentary to do something else. I am going to talk about my project and explain it as it is, to make it easier i can use a slideshare that i have done with bullet points and talk about all of them.

01/02/2019
I have completely changed my documentary and i am now working on myself. this documentary is about me working on Scott's project on photography, it will be a day of me and my sisters, everything we done and how it went. I will be filming everything i do in the studio and our journey to college. there are going to be about 4 locations; the underground, the street, the college and the studio. As it is going to be on saturday it wont be a problem to film because there are not many people walking around.

02/02/2019
Today i have filmed my journey to college with my models and filmed all that we done the whole day long, one of the issues were that the camera kept on running out of battery which i had to change it twice and it constantly stopped filming. I've used different angles but majority in a mid shot so that the viewer can see what is going on around. there were a lot of people who came for the open day to know more about photography and i think it is beneficial for my documentary because makes it way more interesting.

04/02/2019
Today I will write a scrip on how I want my voice over to be, as soon as I finish it I will check if the studio is free and if not I will book it for tomorrow to film myself talking about the project and how it went. I believe this is one of the best ideas i've had so far; except, i had a problem which I might be able to fix while editing with help of one of my classmates and it is because the studio is dark as I was only using the boxlights the videos are probably dark and hard to see. I plan to edit tomorrow the videos of the 2nd and myself talking and have it finished by thursday the 7th.

Script
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Today is the day that i finally booked the studio and I'm going to talk about my Photography project. it took us 40min to get to Leyton from my house, but it was worth it.

We had about 20min wait because the backdrop had to be fixed which Scott done it, I also fixed the lights according to the picture. I provided their outfit, fixed their hair and make-up, it was very fun because it was actually my first time doing someone else's make-up and I think it was quite good, I couldn't waste much time with make-up because I was working all by myself. I set-up the lights and we were ready to start.
after the girls got changed it was very fun.

Editorial photography fits between photojournalism and advertising photography it is used in fashion magazines and catalogs to illustrate a specific subject and most often follow a sequential essay, whether showing a product, a person or something so that it values its aspects. I am more focussed on showing the values of a specific thing which is

The girls got ready and adapted themselves to the studio, and after the first photo-shoot, in which was the 60's style, they got a change of outfit and put on some make-up.

I choose editorial-fashion as genre for my photography including make-up to emphasize and make the photo look more attractive. Editorial because I want to create something new, as not copying work from other photographers. I’ll be focusing in a mood which associate clothing. The theme is neutral; In other words  there is no specific concept or any meaning behind the photo at the moment. Usually there’s a stylist; a makeup artist and a hairdresser, an image editor, a photographer and their assistants; however, I will be the one providing everything. One of the disadvantages about it is that i will take more time preparing the models. So I believe I’ll need about 3h-4h to set up the location and camera, get everything ready.
--------------------------------------------------
The target audience that I am aiming to appeal is teenagers and young adults; in view of fact that my photography catalogues to illustrate a specific subject in which later on will be revealed. Magazines such as  vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar have more than 50% of audience genre female and between the ages 20-35. Since I believe my project is similar to what photographers such as Steve Klein who work for magazines, so, i would probably have the same target audience as those mentioned before magazines have.

Reflection on Working in the Media Industry

well, my plan was to finish college and attend university and later on I would find a fixed job. I knew about working in the media industry, some people worked as a freelancer but I didn't know that it was such a big percentage of people that are basically obliged to find their own temporarily jobs. I prefer to work in a company where I know that I have time for myself and time for work separately. I came to a conclusion where I might change my course or find a job that is permanent. I really don't think being a freelancer suits me because, from my point of view, it messes up the persons life in a way where you won't have time for yourself and if you are not good enough to communicate with people and good enough with what you do, there is going to be a lot of competition between you and all the other people that work as a freelancer in the media industry. in addition, working with colleagues, having your own office, having time for yourself and knowing that at the end of every month you have a salary is always better (from my POV). Today I found out that working with the VFX I can get a permanent job and make of it a good living; so I might stay in media and try my best to join the VFX working as a visual effect artist. I talked to Rob and got to know that working with VFX I have to be a very dedicated and patient person when working because everything needs perfection and details, needs to be reviewed.

Visual effects (abbreviated VFX) is the process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live action shot in film makingVFX is extensively used in Bollywood & Hollywood to create awesome effects & realistic environments. Through visual effects, you can make interesting things happen in movies - bomb blasts, natural disasters, flying objects, superpowers, etc. - that are difficult or impossible to shoot in real life.

to become a VFX artist I need to get a bachelor's degree. I also searched that it is possible to become a VFX artist without a college degree, but the path is often easier with one. VFX artists usually major in fine arts, computer graphics, or animation. It would be good to choose a college with a reputation for strength in these areas and a reputation for good job placement for graduates. Since my course in college is Media I might have to change what I want to do in University to be able to be a VFX artist.
Special effects are illusions or visual tricks used in the film, television, theatre, video game and simulator industries to simulate the imagined events in a story or virtual world. An optical effect might be used to place actors or sets against a different background.

Some films such as Avatar, Iron Man, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Transformers, X-men are examples of 3ds Max in movies. And the software used are;
  • Autodesk Maya. TM ...
  • Motion Builder. It is a popular 3D character animation software. ...
  • V-Ray. V-Ray is a popular rendering engine software used in graphics & animation. ...
  • Adobe Photoshop. ...
  • Adobe Premiere. ...
  • Nuke.

Media Skills Analysis

This term I will focus on creative and organisational because I struggle a lot with coming up with ideas to whatever project it is. I don't have any experience with graphic design which I think is very interesting since I like drawing and creativity.
for organisation I hate library research, maybe the reason is because I don't like reading books.

For technical I got 13.5 in which I need to improve with Photoshop, illustrator, and premiere pro. in order for me to achieve my goal which is get a 5 for each of them; I need to practice a lot, do extra work and try my best to get it the way I want my project to be. I'm not a fan of Photoshop however, I find premiere pro interesting and enjoy it a lot, I believe is going to be very easy for me to improve.

Organisational I got 15 which means that I need to improve with library research, I never liked reading books or going to the library; however, I know I need to start getting resources from other places such as primary research and library research. I do have organised files, titled and most of them labelled.

Creative, I need to improve a lot in creative writing, when it comes to formal and smart words I cant really have all of them in mind, I got some experience in Photoshop so I believe it wont be difficult with graphic design. I am very good at drawing and illustrating crafts and I like creating stuff. I ended as a result 15/20, I plan to focus more on creative writing.

Interpersonal (Soft skills) I am not very confident speaking in public, I stutter a little bit but when I have to work on a project I can do it. I've worked on a focus group and made a lot of presentations last year with my colleagues and some of them were filmed; I believe it was decent. I'm alright with both managing others, and following instructions.  I got a 20/20 on this one.
